Bent line, direction unknown

Your line is bent and Nstand will not tell you which way, because it could not work out which way your chest was pointing. The bend is measured; naming it would be a guess.

What it looks like

On the recording the body is clearly not straight, but the bend could be an arch or a pike — filmed from the front or the back, the two are mirror images and look identical.

Why it happens

Which way you face is inferred from the joints anatomy only lets bend one way: the hip folds forward, the knee folds backward. Filmed head-on or from behind, neither is visible, and a very still hold or a straddle gives the estimate nothing to work with.

What it costs you

An arch and a pike need opposite corrections, so guessing wrong sends you to the wrong drill for weeks. That is exactly why the app says it does not know rather than picking the likelier one.

How to fix it

Film side-on. Phone on the floor or a low bench a few metres away, whole body in frame, hands near the bottom of the picture, and kick up across the camera rather than toward it. One clean side-on hold is enough for the app to name the fault and prescribe for it.

Drills that fix it

No drill fixes this one, because it is not a strength or a mobility problem — it is a filming problem. Get a side-on clip and the app will name the fault behind it.

How Nstand measures it

The bend is the same hip angle used for an arch and a pike — more than 8° — but reported without a direction, because the sign needs a facing estimate this clip could not support.

Nstand is not your coach

It is a camera and some geometry. It does not replace a coach, a gym or an academy, it cannot see your wrists, your history or what you are about to land on, and it is wrong sometimes. Handstands can injure you. What you do on your hands is your decision and your risk: warm up, train where a fall is safe, and stop when something hurts.
